Self quarantine is a great time to reflect on the choices that led you to getting covid during the holiday season.
Because of covid, I got to:
Watch Saltburn
DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE WITH YOUR PARENTS!
DO NOT LET YOUR PARENTS WATCH THIS MOVIE!
DO NOT RECOMMEND YOUR PARENTS TO WATCH THIS MOVIE!
But if you want to watch it, please watch it, so we can talk about it.
I’m going to rewatch it, because I really like it. The movie is uncomfortable and it’s ready to make you revel in the weirdness. The scriptwriting is excellent: the slow, deliberate spiral into darkness and laced with pitch-black humour and psychosexual undertones. There are some controversial scenes (hence the movie’s infamy on TikTok) but I think this is a really good film (the set! is! so! cool!) and also an excellent selection of music…I mean I will never forget Murder On The Dancefloor ever! 😉

5/5 frogs for Young Mungo by Douglas Stuart
I liked Young Mungo a little more than Shuggie Bain, the storytelling was heartbreaking and very memorable.
Nose is stuffed like the turkey at the Christmas dinner table.
I’m trying to pace myself everyday and be gentle to myself.
It’s nice to relax all day and go to bed at 10pm.
I have not had coffee since 23 December.
I’m very bored.
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Holidays, Season’s Greetings everyone! Can’t believe it’s already been one year running the fun fax machine, on to the next! 🎉
