Things that happened since the start of 2023:
AI art is the worst (exhibit A). We should petition to bring back the pillory.
If you post your artwork online, here is a definitive thread to check out if your artwork has been used in AI Art engines/platforms.
Also, just learnt that Getty Images is suing Stable Diffusion (one of many AI Art platforms/tools) for scraping its images. I SAY FUCK ‘EM!
I did not read prince harry’s book but watched one VERY INFORMATIVE youtube video (exhibit B). I was unwell after. Great video but terrible book. The book took oversharing to the next level. At first, I was rooting for them, but now I just want to unhear about the book. Imagine writing a book about how your sibling wronged you with a side of penis anecdotes. An added bonus: the audiobook was read by Prince Harry himself.
Not in an art slump, just spending a lot of time reworking some of my old work in preparation for boothing at art fairs this year (yes, I’m grabbing my 2023 resolution by the balls). Just some self-accountability, because I have not posted anything since the start of the year but WHO’S COUNTING? Also, some major stuff in the works, so posting on IG might take a backseat.
Finished reading Sally Rooney’s Conversations with Friends (finally), it was a solid 4 out of 5 frogs. Very enjoyable.
The language was precise and I loved the staccato rhythm. Interesting lack of quotation marks in the book.
I could say that the whole book was really just an extended, hyperactively self-aware version of “My wife and I saw you from across the bar and we really dig your vibe”.
Things I liked:
this made me laugh A LOT:
Also, I FUCKED YOUR MOM:
Closing remarks:
Very busy, slightly stressed, going to be okay.
I, in fact, did NOT fuck your mom.
